	Mary Beth Averill, PhD, is a writing coach, consultant, and tutor and life coach in business in Eugene, Oregon, and is the founder/owner of Write On MBA.


	Background With a doctorate in Biology from the University of Oregon, Mary Beth has been an academic writer since the late 1960’s. Currently, in addition to her coaching practice, she is a consultant with the Smith College School for Social Work as an adjunct Associate Professor, providing research advising to social work Master’s candidates. At Smith, Dr. Averill has served on the School for Social Work IRB for 8 years and has taught Research Methods and Writing for Professional Publication.

	As a Writer and Writing Coach Dr. Averill has shepherded over one hundred social work students through the thesis or dissertation process. She has also worked with graduates, undergraduates, and faculty members in the sciences, linguistics, economics, business, English, history, and other subject areas. Mary Beth has provided consultation to nonfiction book authors, memoirists, journalists, song writers, screen writers, and magazine writers. She has written a dissertation in biology, a social work thesis, science and social science academic articles and book reviews, and has coauthored a book chapter.
